GARDENING - with No Drama!

It was time to put in some cool weather plants this weekend. The peas and broccoli have made their way out. Saturday I am hoping cabbage, some flowers, and cauliflower plants will go out along with radish, beets, and carrot seeds plus more onions and potatoes.

Visual Arts Day

Lydia went shopping with grandma for her birthday today!  Elizabeth is having a learning day and Aunt Kim is teaching landscape painting.

April 20, 2025 He has Risen Indeed

Easter was celebrated with serving Easter breakfast at church, dinner at the Wonnenberg’s and supper at the Tiede’s this evening. The girls asked if they could do an Easter Egg hunt for their cousins as their Easter Gift from us.  Raisng Girls to Serve!

April 15, 2025 - Trip Around the World

Today was a whirlwind of a travelling day!  I headed to the local 4-H office this morning to pay for summer workshop days.  These are great opportunities for all members.  There is always something they can learn.  Also we are working to start a juniorl eaders organization in our county so the educator helped make some decisions on how we want that to look.

Next traveled to Chamberlain, about an hour drive, to get a few more chickens (we didn't have this color yet and Lydia has wanted to try this new breed.  There will hopefully be pictures tomorrow.

Then back to Gregory to pick up the kids from school after a band lesson and to one more appointment before heading home to the wash rack.

The girls their heifers fed, washed and turned out for the night. The new chickens had to find a home in the old fireworks stand.  The rabbits were fed and watered and nest boxes were stuffed for new litters.

Books were read…  Tests were studied for...  Showers were take…. Chickens were closed… ducks were put away….and the rest of the barns were closed up!

…..oh and somewhere in there I cleaned the grill and made supper.

Birthday Bowling and Cousin Sleepovers!

Tonight was filled with a bowling 35th birthday for the girls aunt and all their cousins.  Followed by a sleepover with the older cousins.

April 5, 2025

Sometimes we leave the farm!!!!  Lydia is our baller and gymnast.  These girls started playing the last week in October and after trying to end their season multiple times these girls still want to play every chance they get.  I stayed home this weekend so dad could coach them.

April 1, 2025 - April Fool's Day!

One of my least favorite days of the year!  I always have a list of 100 different things to do and get done and as I hurry around trying to get the girls out to the bus and then someone has to try to April Fool's every 5 minutes.

4-H Community Service Project

The girls started hanging up posters for their Back Pack Drive.  Elizabeth cam up with this idea last fall after noticing there were some kids had school that had holes in their backpacks or didn't have a backpack at all.  So her idea was to collect backpacks and then give them to teachers at the school to distribute to students that need them.  So I put up the bumpers and she brought it to our 4-H club and formed a committee to help with some community service.

March 31, 2025 - Monday is Laundry Day

Today is just a day at home for me and day of school for the girls!  I learned to be more diligent about checking th clean up crew on the weekends!

First I will check the incubator temperature and humidity.  Then onto the chicks and seedlings water levels.  Next I will head out to the big barn and check the baby pigs and bring the heifers in.  Today it is 23 degrees so I will not be rinsing the heifers.

Then on to the next set of baby chicks, Elizabeth's Rabbit Barn and Lydia's Chicken Barn.  I will show you these another day.
